Second Flight; Butterfly Paintings

The Second Flight; Butterfly Paintings" exhibit will be up until Nov. 4th at the Sparkle Barn, in Wallingford, Vermont. Exhibit viewing hours are the same as the Sparkle Barn’s normal schedule. Private viewings by appointment.
Second Flight's “Butterfly Paintings” are the work of artist, Stacy Harshman. Stacy creates multi- media, multi-textured environments into which she positions real preserved butterflies; creating a permanent “second flight" for the butterflies.
"Creating with butterflies in my mixed-media works has brought me intense joy. The first time I pinned a butterfly into the painted canvas, its magnificent presence startled me. Nothing was flat anymore; life had burst forth in full dimension in front of my eyes. I will never forget that moment.
It is my hope that these mixed-media works will give the butterflies a "second flight” and that their wings may stir our hearts and imaginations."
Come and experience the mesmerizing habitats Stacy creates to house the beauty of butterflies from all over the world.
(The butterflies are sourced from eco-farms where they lived out their natural life-span and the farms give locals an economic incentive to conserve the environment.)
